This just in: M.A.L.adies issue gratuitous insult against Muslims!
In their latest "parody," the M.A.L.adies issue a mock letter from NaturePhotographers.net (an excellent web forum, by the way) supposedly taking to task, in Gestapo-like fashion, someone who declared insufficient loyalty to Adamus. Now, this is pretty innocuous (except for it being a second violation of Godwin's Law), and is even a bit funnier...no, wait, make that a bit less unfunny than their usual slime, except that they take a completely gratuitous swipe against Islam by repeatedly having the NaturePhotographers.net Gestapo refer to "Marc (Peace be upon him)"-- the honorific bestowed on the prophet Muhammed by his followers. I suspect that devout Muslims would not appreciate throwing in a bit of mockery of their religion into a message supposedly coming from a Nazi-like dicatatorial group. So, where's the Ayatollah and his fatwas when we really need them?

This soap opera is pretty amusing. I want to see you be even-handed though, because actually the MAL lunatic made a decent point about Marc's Crater Lake shot--it would be highly unlikely he made that shot on day 3 of a 5 day trek (which he claimed publically) when the location is only a couple miles from the park entrance. It would be interesting to hear Marc's response to that one.
ReplyDeleteAgain, the road is NOT plowed in winter. The rim is NOT open in winter much of the time. Marc has proven with many images his ability to go at least as far or farther than any trip around the rim, which lots of people do every winter. The place where Marc took that shot is NOT anywhere close the end of plowed road, and certainly more than a "few" miles trek - just ask anyone staffed in winter in the park. It's ridiculous to ask him to explain such a thing. Seriously, if you were Marc, would you really indulge MAL in this way? No. Of course not. You'd sue their ass off. Your lawyers would tell you to keep your mouth shut and prove it in court, which I'm sure he will.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is, Marc is a bartender and can't afford an attorney...
ReplyDeleteNo, the problem is that you can't sue somebody unless you can find them. The M.A.L.adies have cloaked their WHOIS information, so, at the moment, no one knows who they are. Not being a lawyer, I don't know if it's possible to sue their ISP to get that information, but that becomes one lawsuit that would have to play out before you could even get to the real one. And, even then, there's no guarantee that the ISP knows who they are. It's quite possible with many providers to sign up using a fake name, and, say, pay for a year in advance with a Visa gift card purchased with cash, so there would be no way to tell who the owner of that site really is. The M.A.L.adies may be psychotic, but they're not stupid.
ReplyDeleteOh, don't worry. My legal options are expanding all the time and justice will be served.
ReplyDeleteYes, a few of us do know who it is and are advancing on justice. Just be patient. I can tell you the person is a loser.
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't believe anyone knows who it is yet for certain, and if they do, they can contact me at any point. If anyone contacts me with information that leads to the conviction of the person(s) responsible for the LIES site, they can remain anonymous. The legal process is slow and expensive. Although it will likely succeed, it takes too long. Anyone comes forward with the right name and I'll make it worth your while and more.
