During my survey of comments posted to the M.A.L. blog, I discovered a quite interesting phenomenon: after an early period of time where the M.A.L.adies were controlling the tone of the comments by simply refusing to punish any critical of them, they began to (apparently) back off on the censorship. Since then, the sentiment of the comments has swung wildly against them; leaving off the posts by one of their "staff," the count I came up with was 64 positive, 212 negative.
But there's been an interesting pattern: for the past several weeks, no matter how negative the balance of the comments has been, the first comment on the entry has always been positive. And posted shortly after the blog entry itself. And, of course, anonymous. Boys and girls, can you say "sockpuppet"...? Sure, you can!

That "pattern" is me, another person who totally agree's with the truth being told. Let me be clear that I do not know the author or marcadamuslies.com or the blog but agree with their viewpoint that marc adamus is a liar. Blatantly.
ReplyDeleteA question to you, the author of this blog...why defend marc adamus? Be serious and truthful, why? What do you have to gain? What do you have to lose?
At the same time, what does the author of the MAL website and blog have to gain/lose? I'm not sure, but what I do know is after many, many years of reading the exaggerated stories of marc adamus I was sick of it and when the MAL blog/website popped up I thought to myself that it was nice I was not the only one thinking marc adamus was a big story teller (aka liar) however I will say it is a low blow to attack him publicly.
I have to assume that this was a call to action for marc adamus, which as far as I can see just seems to let it all continue, which in my view means he knows that there is no defense to his LIES.
Anyway, marc adamus...if you want this all to end...make a statement, make it truthful and my advise to these bloggers is let it all rest, take it all down, but only if marc comes forward to tell us the truth, once and for all.
First of all, Mr. Anonymous, I don't believe for a minute that you "do not know the author or marcadamuslies.com." Especially suspicious is the fact that your comment got posted exactly four minutes (i.e. just enough time to write a message that long) after the last post to the M.A.L. blog. A curious coincidence, don't you think? But certainly no more curious than that you, by your own admission, would just happen, on several occasions, to drop by the M.A.L. site shortly after the M.A.L.ady had put up a new post, so you could add your approving comment right away, before anyone else had a chance to post the first comment. That's awful hard to believe, if you ask me.
ReplyDeleteNevertheless, on the (infinitesimal, IMHO) chance that you're not one of the M.A.L.adies, let me answer one of your questions.
What's in it for me? A dislike of dishonesty, of people who pretend that all you need do to "prove" someone a liar is to keep shouting "you're a liar!" over and over, absent any real evidence to back it up. (And, no, showing that someone once called a 4.1 mile hike "around five miles" DOESN'T qualify as real evidence.) An even stronger disgust with "scorched-earth" character assassination, as has been carried out by the M.A.L.adies against anyone who dares to disagree with them. And an ultimate revulsion with those who feel free to mudsling while cowardly going to great lengths to falsify their identity and keep their identity hidden, so that they themselves can't be subject to the treatment they so recklessly dish out to those who don't share their opinion. (And I find it the ultimate irony that you say that Adamus "letting it all continue" is evidence in your behalf, when in fact he has been refuting every phony charge the M.A.L.adies have been leveling against him, often right here in the comments to this blog. Similarly your calling on him to "tell the truth" while ignoring the truth he has been telling. Obviously, in your mind, "telling the truth" only means "telling me what I want to hear" however unfounded it may be.)
You say Adamus needs to "come clean" (even though he has defended himself ably at every turn, showing the charges to be baseless) for this to end? I'm going to turn around and say that, for this to end, it's the M.A.L.ady/M.A.L.adies who need to come clean, to come out behind the cloak of anonymity they've been cowering under for the past year. At that point, we'll see where the real truth lies.
And, before I forget, one more thing: this has nothing to do with Marc Adamus or any of the other individuals slimed by the M.A.L.ady site. I would be defending ANY photographer in the world against the kind of unfounded character-assassination undertaken by the M.A.L.adies, should they be the target. IMHO, the very existence of the M.A.L. site and blog are a disgrace to the world of photography, and the sooner it fades away, the better it will be for the photographic world.
ReplyDeleteIf this person had any brain at all they would try to disappear before the shit hits the fan for them. They are really digging their own grave so to speak. Can anyone imagine what trouble/justice this person will suffer once everyone knows who they are? Can anyone image the legal hell they are going to go through. Like I said, if they had a brain they would disappear. Personally I hope they don't disappear, because I can not wait to see the person brought to justice.
