There's one more problem: the essay appears on the site of...Jesse Estes.
Does that name ring a bell? If not, you may wish to check out the "M.A.L.L. Honor Roll" to the right, and notice Estes' name on the list of photographers who are obviously better than the M.A.L.ady, based on him/her/it going on personal attacks against them.
And, indeed, you don't have very far to look to find the following in a July 13, 2009 post on the original M.A.L.ady blog:
Too stupid to create your own images? Just copy a Marc Adamus image!
Copying Marc Adamus images is a big hobby for “passionate” MORONS, THUGS, & IDIOTS who desperately seek the “fame” they think Marc Adamus enjoys. It’s gotten so bad that his workshops/photo tours are simply an excuse for MORONS & THUGS to place their tripods in his tripod holes and copy his images down to every last detail.
Don’t believe us? Check out the images of THUGS such as Ryan Dyar & Jesse Estes, for example. This level of stupidity & fanaticism is somewhat unnerving.
(That post resulted in Estes being listed on our honor roll; the post elevating him to that position can be found here.)
At any rate, the same Jesse Estes previously described as a pro-Adamus "THUG" has now apparently become one of the M.A.L.ady's heroes, simply because the M.A.L.ady was able to twist Estes' words beyond all recognition to turn them into an attack on Adamus.
And, from what I've read elsewhere on the Internet, Estes isn't too fond of the M.A.L.ady, either -- and with apparent good reason. In a message to another photographer targeted by the M.A.L.ady, Estes wrote:
I noticed some traffic coming from a microstock forum this morning and noticed that you had posted the whois for the loser website. Whoever that guy is used my old whois info and registered the domain.
I have nothing to do with that website at all, and I'm in the process of removing my name from the domain through ICANN. I would appreciate it if you would not post my name out there as being behind this stupid mess... Whoever it is, also doesn't like me either.
regards,
--jesse
I'm sure anyone who looks at the striking images on Estes' website can have no doubt in his mind that he, indeed, has nothing to do with the M.A.L.ady. As for the latter, he/she/it can take comfort in one matter: there's no way Estes will ever rank the M.A.L.ady as a "photographic wannabe"...because, to be honest, he/she/it is much more like a "photographic never-was."
